The Father and Head of the UGCC, His Beatitude Sviatoslav, personally and on behalf of the Synod of Bishops of the UGCC, congratulated Rt. Reverend Kenneth Nowakowski, Bishop of the Eparchy of the Holy Family based in London and Chairman of the Pastoral Council of the Patriarchal Curia, on his 65th birthday.

“A caring father for our faithful in the UK”: Head of the UGCC congratulates Bishop Kenneth Nowakowski on his 65th birthday

“On this festive day, we thank the Lord for the gift of your life, your holy ministry, and for other gifts that He so abundantly bestowed on you and which you generously multiplied throughout your devotion to God and the Church,” the greeting letter reads.

The Head of the UGCC noted that the celebration of Bishop Kenneth’s anniversary is a significant event for the entire Church and a sign of God’s blessing: “Together with you, we bring our prayers to the throne of the Almighty, thanking Him for calling you to the path of commitment to the Church and your people.”

His Beatitude Sviatoslav noted that the ministry of Bishop Kenneth as a priest and later as a bishop has brought many fruits to the Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church.

“For many years, first in Rome and then in Lviv, after our Church came out of the underground, you were an assistant to the late Cardinal Myroslav Ivan Lubachivsky. With you as a leader, many church structures were revived and founded, including our Caritas Ukraine Charitable Foundation. We highly appreciate your work in the structures of the Patriarchal Curia, which, without exaggeration, is a concern for the good of the entire Church. For our faithful in the UK, you have become a caring father, guardian, and passionate preacher of Christ’s truth,” the letter reads.

The Primate thanked the birthday celebrant for his service, expressed his honor and praise, and wished the help of the Holy Spirit in all his endeavors for the glory of God and the good of our Church and native people.
