A meeting of officers of the Military Chaplaincy Service of the Armed Forces of Ukraine held in the Patriarchal Cathedral
On June 27, officers of the Military Chaplaincy Service of the Armed Forces of Ukraine of the Commander-in-Chief’s Office and heads of chaplaincy services of the Kyiv region visited the Patriarchal Cathedral of the Resurrection of Christ of the UGCC.
With the participation of officials from the Department of Military Chaplaincy of the Patriarchal Curia of the UGCC, the guests deepened their knowledge of the spiritual heritage of the Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church, the clergy of which provide pastoral care to the military staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and their families as military chaplains in the positions of officers.
Deputy Head of the Military Chaplaincy Department Fr. Andriy Zelinsky, S. J., expressed his gratitude to the officers for participating in this event.
“We hope that such meetings facilitate a deeper understanding of the mission of the Church in meeting the spiritual and religious needs of the military and enable us to make our ministry more fruitful and useful,” concluded Fr. Andriy.
The event participants also had the opportunity to view the exhibition of the Spiritual Valor collection, which is currently on display at the Patriarchal Cathedral of the Resurrection of Christ. The exhibition features icons created on armor plates that saved the lives of Ukraine’s defenders.
