A Sister from the Congregation of the Holy Family Professed Her Perpetual Vows in Hoshiv
On May 4, 2025, at the Hoshiv Monastery of the Congregation of the Sisters of the Holy Family, Sister Antonia Pichuha solemnly professed her perpetual vows, affirming her final dedication to God. Auxiliary Bishop Mykola Semenyshyn of the Archeparchy of Ivano-Frankivsk presided over the Divine Liturgy and the Rite of Profession.

In his homily, the bishop addressed the community of sisters and all those present, highlighting the profound significance of this act of consecration. He compared Sister Antonia to the women of the Gospel who followed Christ with love and devotion.
Bishop Mykola emphasized that from this moment on, Sister Antonia “will be close to the Lord until the last breath of her life,” listening to the voice of the Savior and discerning His will. “May our prayers and support give you strength, dear Sister Antonia, […] so that until the end, in joy, in humility, and with a smile on your face, you may remain His beloved daughter,” he added.
The bishop went on to congratulate the Congregation of the Sisters of the Holy Family on this significant occasion: “Today is truly a celebration of celebrations for you. Unfortunately, in recent years, vocations have been in decline. For some reason, fewer girls and boys are entering monasteries. But even so, the Lord does not remain silent—the Lord continues to call.”
He also spoke about Sister Antonia Pichuha’s love for children and her dedication to catechesis, expressing his wish that her love for God and for those in her care would continue to grow.
“May your love for the Lord, your love for children, and their love for you grow ever deeper from this day onward. It seems that love knows no limits—you can always learn to love more. So today, I wish for all of us: grow in love. And may God’s love and grace be with you,” said Bishop Mykola.
In conclusion, the nuns thanked the bishop for granting the Rite of Perpetual Profession and for his ongoing spiritual care.
