Annual All-Church pilgrimage to Czestochowa takes place in Poland
On July 1, Bishop Volodymyr Yushchak, Eparch of Wroclaw-Koszalin, guided the annual All-Church pilgrimage of Greek Catholics in Poland to the Icon of the Mother of God of Czestochowa.
Over a thousand faithful and twenty UGCC priests took part in the pilgrimage.
This year’s pilgrimage featured two parts: The Divine Liturgy in the chapel of the Miraculous Icon of the Mother of God, led by Bishop Volodymyr Yushchak, and the Way of the Cross on the walls of Yasna Hora.
Sixteen priests of the Przemyśl-Warsaw and Wroclaw-Koszalin dioceses co-celebrated with the bishop.
After the Divine Liturgy, all the pilgrims came to the ramparts of Yasnaya Gora to contemplate the Passion of Christ. The prayer service finished with a blessing given by Bishop Volodymyr and a group photo on the steps in front of the monument to St. John Paul II.
In the evening, the faithful who still stayed on Yasnaya Gora had the opportunity to take part in the Akathist to the Most Holy Theotokos and served in the chapel of the Miraculous Icon of the Most Holy Theotokos.
