Bishop Volodymyr Viytyshyn consecrates new chapel in Starun
On Saturday, April 29, Metropolitan and Archbishop of Ivano-Frankivsk, Volodymyr Viytyshyn, performed the rite of consecration of the newly built chapel of the Annunciation of the Blessed Virgin Mary at the Retreat Center of the Blessed Martyr Simeon Lukach in the village of Starun.
During the chapel’s consecration, the Metropolitan said: “Today we entered this beautiful church for the first time, which is the house of God. We dedicated it to the Annunciation of the Blessed Virgin Mary. So may it bring the good news of the coming day for each of us, for our homeland. We hope and pray that the bright day we have been anticipating, will come soon, and the Almighty Lord will grant us our wish. And it will happen so!”
“Today, standing in this holy church, we need to thank God for His great love for us, the gift of life, and our health! Today we also pray for those who worked to build this beautiful shrine. We offer a prayer of gratitude for all the benefactors who have loved this holy place for the glory of blessed Simeon and out of love for the Lord! Each of your donations has made this beautiful church possible,” the archbishop said.
The archbishop thanked everyone who contributed to the shrine’s construction, including architects, builders, and clergy who prayed daily with the people.
The archbishop wished this church to become a place of healing for human souls and added that the faithful would have a special place for the Mother of God and pray to Her.
