Christmas Vertep Visits the National Guard in Kharkiv Region
The history of Christmas in Ukraine is enriched by numerous customs, among which a special place is dedicated to the Vertep. This traditional Ukrainian rite has become an integral part of the celebration of Christmas. This year, the 3 rd Brigade of the Spartan Operational Task Force soldiers were visited by the Christmas Vertep of the parish of Archangel Michael of the UGCC in Liubotyn, Kharkiv region, as reported military unit 3017 of the National Guard of Ukraine and the press service of the Kharkiv Exarchate of the UGCC.
This festive event became a concrete symbol of unity and mutual support during the Christmas holidays. The National Guardsmen felt the warmth and support coming from everyone who contributed to the creation of this vertep. Together with the parishioners, the military shared the joy of Christmas, even while on the ground performing combat missions.
“This common initiative will be long remembered as testimony that when we unite for a common goal, we can create a miracle that will forever remain in the hearts and memories of everyone,” says seminarian Sviatoslav Dmytriv.
The Christmas vertep, created collaboratively by children and parishioners, not only symbolized Christmas but also instilled a festive spirit and inspired the Guardsmen to make new achievements.
