During his visit to the Cathedral of the Holy Family in London, Mr. Poroshenko prayed and lit a candle in memory of those who gave their lives defending Ukraine and its freedom, then paid tribute to the Condolence board with photos of fallen Ukrainian soldiers — relatives of the Cathedral’s parishioners.

Later, the fifth President of Ukraine toured the Ukrainian Support Center, where he met with the staff, volunteers, and Ukrainian refugees attending English language courses at the center.

Petro Poroshenko thanked the staff and volunteers and emphasized the United Kingdom’s pivotal role in supporting and protecting Ukraine after the full-scale invasion in February 2022.

As we previously reported, on June 20, 2023, on World Refugee Day and in the lead-up to the Ukraine Recovery Conference, the Holy Family Greek Catholic Cathedral in London was visited by US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken, UK Foreign Secretary James Cleverly, and State Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Oleksandr Bankov.
