Head of the Commission on Interfaith and Interreligious Relations participates in a scientific conference in Rome
The international conference “The Ecumenical Vision of the Eastern Catholic Churches in Dialogue with the Orthodox” is taking place this week at the Pontifical Oriental Institute.
From November 14 to 16, theologians of the Eastern Catholic and Orthodox Churches, along with well-known hierarchs and clergy from around the world, discuss and analyze the ecclesiological and theological factors of future relations, drawing on their local spiritual heritage and unique religious experience.
With the blessing of His Beatitude Sviatoslav, Fr. Ihor Shaban, head of the Commission on Interfaith and Interreligious Relations, is participating in the conference.
In his presentation, Fr. Ihor introduced the latest achievements of the Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church in the ecumenical sphere, specifically, he spoke about the Ecumenical Concept of the UGCC and presented a report on the identity of the UGCC based on this document. The speaker emphasized the peculiarities of the history of the Kyivan Church, its theological viewpoint, and the modern understanding of interfaith dialogue at both the local and global levels.
