Head of the UGCC congratulates Bishop Petro Stasiuk on his 80th birthday
On the occasion of his 80th birthday, His Beatitude Sviatoslav congratulated the hierarch Bishop Petro Stasiuk personally and on behalf of the Synod of Bishops of the UGCC, expressed his warm gratitude, recognition and appreciation for his service.
In his letter of greeting, the Primate emphasized that through his ministry, Bishop Petro Stasiuk sets an example of a good shepherd who lays down his soul for his sheep. He thanked him for his ministry and for cherishing Ukrainian culture and identity in faraway Australia.
“For the thousands of faithful of our Church who have found themselves in Australia in search of a better life, you have become a caring father, a zealous preacher of Christ’s truth, a defender of their rights and freedoms,” said His Beatitude Sviatoslav.
The Head of the UGCC also noted Bishop Petro Stasiuk’s active participation in the Synod of Bishops of the UGCC and his long service in the Patriarchal Catechetical Commission of the UGCC.
“We wish you plenty of God’s blessings, the help of the Holy Spirit in all your endeavors for the glory of God and the good of our Church and people — for many and good years. May this time, which the Lord will appoint for you, be peaceful and blessed,” His Beatitude Sviatoslav wished.
