Head of the UGCC expressed condolences on the departure to eternity of Mrs. Maria Choliy
The Father and Head of the UGCC, His Beatitude Sviatoslav, expressed his condolences to Mr. Yevhen, Father Bohdan, and the entire Choliy family on the passing of their mother, Mrs. Maria Choliy of the Bryniavsky family and assured their family of prayerful support.
The Primate emphasized that the mother is the dearest person for each of us. She not only gives us life, but a part of her body and herself. We are so connected to her by invisible ties that when they are broken, we feel incredible pain and loneliness.
“But as believers, we comfort ourselves with the thought that our loved one did not leave us forever, but through death, which is Easter for us, moved to an eternal joyful life with his Creator and we will meet them in eternity,” the Patriarch said.
“We thank God for Mrs. Maria’s honorable upbringing of her sons, one of whom chose the path of service at the Lord’s altar. May the Almighty, responding to her prayers, reward her mother’s love and the efforts she has devoted to develop her Church and accept her into His Heavenly Kingdom,” said the Head of the UGCC.
“We commend the soul of the deceased to the hands of God’s infinite mercy and say with faith: ‘Grant to the one who has been transferred to You the unspeakable glory of Your presence, where a dwelling place awaits those who rejoice and the sweet sound of pure joy echoes,’” added His Beatitude Sviatoslav.
