Head of the UGCC met with the newly elected provincial superior of the Basilian Province of the Most Holy Savior
Today, on February 21, the Father and Head of the Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church, His Beatitude Sviatoslav, met at his residence in Kyiv with the newly elected provincial superior of the Province of the Basilian Fathers of the Most Holy Savior in Ukraine, Fr. Joseph Kralka, and the new provincial advisors.
During the meeting, His Beatitude Sviatoslav congratulated Fr. Joseph on his election as provincial superior and expressed his gratitude for accepting this government. The Patriarch assured that he would continue to support the initiatives of the Basilian Province of the Most Holy Savior aimed at the development of the Church and the common good of God’s people.
The Head of the UGCC thanked the fathers and brothers of the Basilian order for their devoted service to the Ukrainian people, particularly outside of Galicia: in Kherson, Pokotylivka, Kyiv, and other parts of Ukraine.
“We are very grateful to them for this ministry, especially in times of war. It manifested the invisible spiritual power that flows from your community as a great blessing for our entire Church,” said His Beatitude Sviatoslav.
Father Joseph Kralka thanked His Beatitude Sviatoslav for his words of support. He assured him that the members of the Basilian order would further serve God and the Ukrainian people with zeal. The provincial superior shared his plans for the future, specifically the opening of new monasteries in eastern and central Ukraine, rehabilitation centers, and the prospects of a Basilian printing and publishing house.
