Head of UGCC congratulates Bishop Iryney Bilyk on the occasion of the 45th anniversary of priestly ordination
The Father and Head of the UGCC, His Beatitude Sviatoslav, personally and on behalf of the Synod of Bishops of the UGCC, congratulated the Emeritus Bishop, Canonic of the Pontifical Basilica of Santa Maria Maggiore, on the occasion of the 45th anniversary of his ordination to the priesthood.
In his congratulatory letter, His Beatitude Sviatoslav underscored the importance and value of the priestly ordination that Bishop Iryney Bilyk received from the hands of Bishop Sofron Dmyterko, Eparch of Ivano-Frankivsk, in the deep underground.
“Your spiritual care went far beyond the borders of Soviet Ukraine, and this includes, apart from Lviv, Volyn, Zakarpattia, and Donetsk regions, Kazakhstan, Russia, and the countries of the then Yugoslavia,” the Primate affirmed.
“Please accept our wishes for abundant God’s blessings, the assistance of the Holy Spirit in all your endeavors for the glory of God and for the good of our Church and our native people — for many and blessed years!” the greeting reads.
