His Beatitude Sviatoslav congratulated the School Board of the Ukrainian Congress Committee of America on the 70th anniversary of its founding, which it marks on October 27–29.
The Patriarch noted that the school board has been promoting the Ukrainian idea for seven decades through programs for teaching Ukrainian studies in the diaspora, publishing textbooks adapted for Saturday schools, hosting summer teacher training courses, organizing teacher conferences to share experiences, and publishing pedagogical articles in the Ridna Shkola magazine.
“The Ukrainian school chain stretches from Boston, Massachusetts, to Kent, Washington, where over the years, hundreds of teachers have taught children history, culture, literature, and geography with genuine enthusiasm and love for Ukraine. In their lectures, they tried to convey their admiration for the Motherland and its heroes. And how can you talk about your mother, who gave you life without love?” the Archbishop noted in his greeting letter.
And then he called: “Be the voice of truth about Ukraine and its Calvary in the cities and villages where you live and teach our children! Tell everyone: Ukraine exists! Ukraine fights! Ukraine prays!”
