His Beatitude Sviatoslav congratulates Bishop Mykhailo Koltun on the 30th anniversary of his episcopal ordination
The Father and Head of the UGCC, His Beatitude Sviatoslav, personally and on behalf of the Synod of Bishops of the UGCC, congratulated Bishop Mykhailo Koltun, Eparch of Sokal-Zhovkva and the first bishop of the UGCC to be ordained after the Church came out of the underground, on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of his episcopal ordination, which he celebrates today.
“The episcopal ordination that you received from the hands of Myroslav Cardinal Lubachivsky and Bishops Volodymyr Sterniuk and Sofron Dmyterko was the first after our Church came out of the underground. It became a source of graces that streamed down on the wounded after the persecution, but undefeated Church,” the congratulatory letter reads.
“Celebrating your anniversary,” writes the Head of the Church, “we honor your ministry on the hills of the gray-haired Dnipro as Exarch of Kyiv-Vyshhorod and your many years of dedicated service to the needs of our soldiers. In your person, the fathers and laity of the Sokal-Zhovkva Eparchy see a zealous preacher of the Word of God, a wise leader, and a caring father.”
“Please accept our sincere wishes of abundant God’s blessings, the assistance of the Holy Spirit in all your endeavors for the glory of God and the good of our Church and people — for many blessed years,” the greeting reads.
