“The advisory voice of the representatives of the entire UGCC is an essential help to its Father and Head and the Synod of Bishops in resolving critical issues, especially in apostolic activity. Therefore, by the power vested in us, we, in pursuance of Resolution 5, VIII, 1 of the Synod of Bishops of the UGCC, which was held in Przemysl (Poland) on July 7–15, 2022, taking into account the norms of can. 140–142 of the Code of Canons of the Eastern Churches, we convene the third session of the All-Church Forum of the Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church and resolve that its online meetings will be held on March 4 and 11, 2023,” the text of the Decree follows.

The Head of the UGCC calls on the bishops, clergy, priests, and laity elected as delegates of the dioceses to the VII sessions of the Patriarchal Council of the UGCC to participate in the Forum.

The Forum session will include a presentation by Fr. Andriy Onuferko on the topic “Pastoral Letter of the Synod of Bishops of the UGCC from 2021: The Hope to which the Lord calls us.” Pastoral ministry at the diocesan and parish levels in the context of Russian military aggression on three topics: The Way of Healing Wounds and Treating Trauma; Closeness and Practical Attention to the Poor and Marginalized; The Christian family — the domestic church.”

After that, representatives of the dioceses will be invited to the discussion and share their opinions.

“As of today, two sessions of this forum have been successfully conducted, which has become a real manifesto for a church-wide discussion of issues raised by the Secretariat of the Synod of Bishops to follow the ‘synodal path’ together with the Universal Church,” reads the letter of the Head of the Church to the bishops of the UGCC.
