His Beatitude Sviatoslav greeted Bishop Hlib Lonchyna on his 70th anniversary
The Father and Head of the UGCC, His Beatitude Sviatoslav, personally and on behalf of the Synod of Bishops of the Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church, congratulated Bishop Hlib Lonchyna, Apostolic Administrator of the Eparchy of St. Volodymyr the Great in Paris for Ukrainians of the Byzantine rite in France, Apostolic Delegate to Switzerland and the Benelux countries, on the occasion of his 70th birthday.
“For decades, you have been a role model of a good shepherd who lays down his life for his sheep (cf. John 10:11). For thousands of believers of our Church who have found themselves in France and the Benelux countries in search of a better life, and since the outbreak of the war with the Russian aggressor, seeking safety, you have become a caring father, a zealous preacher of Christ’s truth, a defender of their rights and freedoms,” the greeting reads.
Congratulating Bishop Hlib on his anniversary, the Head of the Church also commended his active participation in the activities of the Synod of Bishops of the UGCC and his service in the Patriarchal Liturgical Commission of the UGCC.
“As we ask the merciful Lord to abundantly reward you for your efforts, we extend our heartfelt gratitude and express our recognition and praise. May you receive generous blessings from God and the guidance of the Holy Spirit in all your endeavors for the glory of God and the benefit of our Church and people. Wishing you many blessed years ahead, may the time granted to you be peaceful and filled with blessings.”
