His Beatitude Sviatoslav Met with His Beatitude Epifaniy
On January 14, His Beatitude Sviatoslav, Father and Head of the Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church, met with His Beatitude Epifaniy, Metropolitan of Kyiv and All Ukraine of the Orthodox Church of Ukraine, at the Metropolitan’s House, the residence of the Primate of the Orthodox Church of Ukraine.
Among those present were Metropolitan Yevstratiy of Bila Tserkva, Deputy Chairman of the Department for External Church Relations of the OCU, and Archpriest Oleksa Petriv, who heads the UGCC’s Department for External Relations in Ukraine.
The parties discussed inter-church and inter-confessional cooperation, specifically within the format of the All-Ukrainian Council of Churches and Religious Organizations, as well as the potential for the resumption of the work of the Kyivan Church Study Group. They also reviewed the results of the visits of Metropolitan Epifaniy to the Vatican and His Beatitude Sviatoslav to Constantinople.
They also exchanged proposals aimed at strengthening cooperation for the benefit of the Ukrainian people, particularly in addressing the challenges posed by Russia’s hybrid aggression against Ukraine.
The meeting concluded with an exchange of commemorative gifts among the participants.
