His Beatitude Sviatoslav met with the head of the State Service for Ethno-politics and Freedom of Conscience
On Thursday, September 1, the Father and Head of the Ukrainian Greek-Catholic Church, His Beatitude Sviatoslav, met with the head of the State Service of Ukraine for Ethno-politics and Freedom of Conscience, Olena Bohdan. Fr. Andry Zelinsky, deputy head of the Military Chaplaincy Department of the Patriarchal Curia of the UGCC was also present at the meeting which took place at the residence of the Head of the UGCC in Kyiv.
During the conversation, the parties considered a number of important issues related to the interaction of the Church with state institutions in the conditions of martial law. Special attention was paid to the matter of implementation of the Law of Ukraine on Military Chaplaincy Service.
The Head of the UGCC once again emphasized his readiness to provide high-quality spiritual training to the clergy of the UGCC for such a responsible and necessary service to the Ukrainian Army and our people today.
The head of the State Service for Ethno-politics and Freedom of Conscience, in turn, emphasized the openness and readiness of her department to contribute to the protection of the constitutional rights and freedoms of Ukrainian citizens, especially in the field of meeting the spiritual and religious needs of Ukrainian soldiers.
