His Beatitude Sviatoslav met with the newly appointed head of State Service of Ethno-Politics
On Tuesday, December 20, at the residence of the Head of the UGCC in Kyiv, His Beatitude Sviatoslav met with the newly appointed head of the State Service of Ukraine for Ethno-Politics and Freedom of Conscience Mr. Viktor Yelenskyi.
State Service of Ukraine for Ethno-Politics and Freedom of Conscience is the main body in cooperation between the state, churches, and religious organizations. At the meeting, issues related to state-confessional relations were discussed, particularly during the war.
The parties paid particular attention to the functioning of the institute of military chaplaincy since this state service issues a decree for ministering chaplains.
Separately, representatives of the Church and state authorities discussed the prospects of spiritual unity in Ukrainian society, particularly in establishing religious peace and mutual understanding, as well as the issue of the Churches united in Baptism of St. Volodymyr.
Another topic emphasized during the conversation, is the exceptional role of the All-Ukrainian Council of Churches and Religious Organizations, which is unique in the world and demonstrates its effectiveness in the direction of peace-building, mutual understanding, and correct provision of freedom of religion in Ukraine.
