His Beatitude Sviatoslav Prayed with the Permanent Synod and College Students in Rome on His Birthday

On the occasion of his 55th birthday, May 5, 2025, His Beatitude Sviatoslav, Father and Head of the Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church, presided over the Divine Liturgy in the chapel of the Pontifical Ukrainian College of St. Josaphat in Rome. This prayer marked the beginning of the regular session of the Permanent Synod of Bishops of the UGCC, taking place within the walls of the college.

Congratulating His Beatitude Sviatoslav on his birthday, Father Rector Luis Casian said: “Your Beatitude, on your birthday, we have gathered at this Divine Liturgy, united in prayer, to thank the Lord for the gift of your life and to ask Him to bless your ministry in the Church of Christ. We assure you of our daily prayers for you and for the Church in these trying times.”

The students of the college and the bishops present expressed their gratitude to the Head of the Church for his tireless service and spiritual leadership.

It should be noted that the following members of the Permanent Synod of the Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church are participating in the meeting: His Beatitude Sviatoslav, Bishop Borys Gudziak, Bishop Bohdan Dzyurakh, Bishop Yosafat Moschych, Bishop Mykhailo Bubniy, and Bishop Andriy Khimyak.
