During the meeting, His Beatitude Sviatoslav expressed his gratitude to Archbishop Lori for his unwavering support of Ukraine, particularly for his two solidarity visits during the Russian aggression. In response, the Archbishop, who serves as Vice President of the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops and Chaplain of the Knights of Columbus, reaffirmed the steadfast support of both the American Catholic bishops and the Knights of Columbus.

Archbishop Lori also led the UGCC delegation on a tour of the Cathedral of the Assumption, the first Catholic cathedral in the United States, considered an architectural masterpiece by Benjamin Latrobe, known as the “father of American architecture.” He shared insights into the history of the Catholic Church in the United States, enriching the delegation’s visit with historical context.
