“I saw many people in Ukraine who want to follow Christ”: Cardinal Arborelius, Bishop of Stockholm
On the bright feast of the Resurrection of Christ, Cardinal Anders Arborelius once again visited the UGCC community in Stockholm. The bishop shared the joy of the Resurrection with the community of Ukrainians who gathered in such large numbers to pray in the largest cathedral in Stockholm.
This was reported by the press service of the Apostolic Exarchate for Ukrainians in Germany and Scandinavia.
“I assure you of my prayers for your homeland, which I had the opportunity to visit last year. I saw many people in Ukraine who want to follow Christ. In the midst of hardships, in the midst of war and misery, they know that Jesus Christ is the only one who will help them to survive. I also pray for all of you who live in Sweden, that you may be enveloped by kindness, compassion and love in this country as well. Jesus Christ is alive and active, He is truly risen from the dead!” said Cardinal Anders.
The children of the UGCC catechetical school in Stockholm extended heartfelt gratitude to the Cardinal for his presence and asked him to continue to pray for a just peace in Ukraine. They presented the bishop with a handmade rosary and a card with Easter wishes.
After the festive Divine Liturgy, Plast in Sweden, along with parish children, held traditional Easter haivky.
