Vatican News reports on a video message of gratitude to Rome, recorded near the Cathedral of St. Nicholas in Kharkiv.

“First, I express my gratitude to Father Mark Semegen, who arranged the collection of this humanitarian aid for the victims of the war in Kharkiv. I also thank the Society of St. Sophia, volunteers and parishioners of the Roman community who prepared and transported this humanitarian aid,” said Bishop Vasyl in the video.

The bishop also extended his gratitude to Cardinal Konrad Krajewski, head of the Dicastery for the Service of Charity, for the humanitarian aid and support from the Apostolic See.

He informed that the humanitarian cargo includes “food, hygiene products, baby food, clothing, a lot of medicines, which are requested by many people.”

“Recently, many people have been evacuated from the border towns and villages, including Vovchansk and Lyptsi, where the hostilities are raging. They were evacuated to Kharkiv, and people come every day asking for food and basic essentials, such as bedding and dishes. They fled with only their documents and the most necessary things to save their lives. Therefore, this humanitarian aid is vital. We pray for all our donors. May the Lord bless you all abundantly. Thank you all once again!”

As it was previously reported, the Kharkiv Greek Catholic parish operates an active humanitarian aid distribution point, open every Thursday from 11:00 a.m. (coupons must be issued from 8:00 a.m.) at 6-A Hvardiytsiv Shyronintsiv Street, Kharkiv.

The parish also serves as a transfer point for medical supplies and equipment. In particular, beds, mattresses, pillows, blankets, medicines, medical supplies, etc. were transferred to the Shapoval Regional Clinical Center of Urology and Nephrology and the Center for Emergency Medical Care and Disaster Medicine in Kharkiv Oblast.
