Kyiv Three Saints Theological Seminary Receives License from the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine
The Kyiv Three Saints Theological Seminary received a license from the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine for the first (bachelor’s) level of higher education in the field (041) “Theology.”
According to the order issued by the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine on January 15, 2024, the Kyiv Three Saints Theological Seminary of the UGCC was granted a state license, signifying recognition of its competence and high standard of education. Simultaneously, the seminary has been included in the Unified State Electronic Database on Education.
This decision is based on the seminary’s education compliance with the legal requirements, particularly the Law of Ukraine “On Higher Education,” the decision of the Licensing Commission of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine, and other regulations.
“The work on obtaining the license began with the blessing of His Beatitude Sviatoslav, Head and Father of the UGCC, and his personal concern for the needs and achievements of our seminary community. We are also grateful to Bishop Borys Gudziak, Metropolitan and Archbishop of Philadelphia, and Bishop Stepan Sus, Head of the Pastoral Migration Department of the UGCC, for their active participation and support in this important work. The work of the fathers of the rectorate, the teaching staff, seminary students, and Mr. Vitaliy Khromets is difficult to overestimate. The long-standing contribution of their knowledge and enthusiasm has played a crucial role in making it possible for the seminary to obtain a state license,” said Fr. Petro Zhuk, the seminary’s rector.
With the acquisition of the license, KTS is now recognized as a higher education institution capable of delivering high-quality education in theology and cultivating qualified specialists in accordance with the demands of the contemporary educational environment. For seminarians, having received a license from the Ministry of Education and Science provides an opportunity to attain a state diploma, validating their acquired knowledge and enabling more effective implementation.
After successfully renewing the affiliation with the Faculty of Philosophy and Theology of the Ukrainian Catholic University the day before, this is another milestone in the growth and development of the Kyiv Seminary in the academic world.
