Members of the Permanent Synod of the UGCC Met with the Head of the Chernivtsi Regional Military Administration
In Chernivtsi, members of the Permanent Synod of the UGCC, led by the Head of the UGCC, His Beatitude Sviatoslav, met with the head of the Chernivtsi Regional Military Administration, Mr. Ruslan Zaparaniuk. They discussed the current challenges for the state, church, society, and religious organizations during the conversation.
The Head of the UGCC and the members of the Permanent Synod expressed their respect for the community and asked after the life of Bukovyna during the war.
Bishop Josaphat Moshchych of the Chernivtsi Eparchy presented to the authorities the activities of the Church in the region, including charitable causes and initiatives aimed at helping the Armed Forces of Ukraine, internally displaced persons, and supporting the families of defenders. The UGCC in the Chernivtsi region has 29 religious organizations and unites thousands of believers.
The leadership of the Chernivtsi Regional Military Administration thanked the Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church for responding to the challenges of war everywhere Ukrainians reside.
Concluding the meeting, the members of the Permanent Synod of the UGCC greeted and prayed together with the members of the Council of Churches and Religious Organizations of the region, who were meeting at the time.
On December 13, the Father and Head of the UGCC, His Beatitude Sviatoslav, and the bishops of the Permanent Synod of the UGCC met with the mayor of Chernivtsi, Roman Klichuk, and consecrated the Christmas nativity scene in the central square of the city.
