This summer, a Christian camp titled “My Journey with Jesus and Friends” took place on the grounds of St. Basil Seminary in Stamford. The camp brought together children aged 6 to 15 for three vibrant sessions (June 16–20, June 23–27, and June 30—July 4). During this time, the young participants had the opportunity to grow spiritually, have fun, and explore their faith in an atmosphere of joy, prayer, and fellowship.

“My Journey with Jesus and Friends”: Summer Camp at St. Basil Seminary in Stamford

Organized under the spiritual guidance of Fr. Bohdan Tymchyshyn, the camp program combined daily themed gatherings, catechetical instruction, Divine Liturgy, singing, creative workshops, and a variety of games. Each day’s schedule offered both spiritual and physical enrichment—from morning assemblies to evening reflections and prayer.

Special emphasis was placed on helping children become familiar with the Gospel, participate in liturgical life, and develop their talents through singing, crafts, and team games. All of this was accompanied by delicious lunches, snacks, and high-quality materials.

Parents and organizers noted that the camp became not only a joyful summer activity but also a profound spiritual experience for the children. They were able to not only enjoy themselves but also deepen their faith, feel the power of prayer, make new friends, and experience God’s presence in community.

Reflecting on the camp’s conclusion, Fr. Rector Bohdan Tymchyshyn shared words of heartfelt gratitude:

“This camp wasn’t just a week of fun — it was a journey of faith. We saw the children discover Jesus as a living friend, listen to God’s Word with excitement, and sing with joy during the Liturgy.”

“I sincerely thank all the animators, volunteers, catechists, parents, and everyone who supported us in prayer. Without you, this journey wouldn’t have been so vibrant. A special thank-you to all the children — for your sincerity, enthusiasm, and inspiring faith.”

“May the seed planted during this camp grow and bear good fruit in your families, parishes, and hearts.”

May this journey with Jesus continue in the heart of every child throughout the year!

We express our heartfelt thanks to the seminary team led by Fr. Rector Bohdan Tymchyshyn, the volunteers, catechists, parents, and above all, the children — for the trust, joy, and living faith they brought to this camp.
