New Coordinator of the UGCC Chaplaincy Elected in Portugal
A meeting of the UGCC Chaplaincy in Portugal and the election of a coordinator took place in Lisbon. The event was attended by the team of the Pastoral and Migration Department of the UGCC, headed by Bishop Stepan Sus, and the president of the organization “Obra Catolica,” Mrs. Eugenia Costa Quaresma, who is responsible for working with migrants from the Portuguese Bishops’ Conference.

Fr. Ivan Petlyak was elected the new coordinator of the UGCC Chaplaincy in Portugal. Fr. Taras Hoyvanyuk and Fr. Mykola Yarema, OSBM, were elected as his deputies. Deacon Nazar Kruk was elected secretary.
The meeting began with a Divine Liturgy presided over by Bishop Stepan.
Currently, there are 27 Ukrainian communities in Portugal, administered by 14 priests, a deacon, and 2 nuns.
