With the blessing of His Beatitude Sviatoslav, the Head of the UGCC Commission on Interfaith and Interreligious Relations, Fr. Ihor Shaban, participated in the congress. On the second day of the conference, he delivered a presentation titled “Position of the Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church on Russia’s Aggression against Ukraine.” In his presentation, he informed the audience about the current situation in Ukraine, highlighting that the Russian Federation continues to terrorize the Ukrainian civilian population by targeting critical infrastructure and residential areas.

Additionally, Fr. Ihor highlighted the efforts of the Patriarchal Charitable Foundation “Wise Cause,” which has provided assistance to numerous refugees and victims fleeing the war with the Russian aggressor, offering them temporary protection and support.

“Today’s International Congress is also an academic initiative aimed at strengthening ties between the academic and church communities of the European neighboring countries,” said Fr. Ihor Shaban.
