Redemptorist Sisters in Germany celebrate 25th anniversary
The Missionaries Sisters of the Most Holy Redeemer in Germany celebrated the anniversary of their community in prayer at the Marian Pilgrimage Center in Birkenstein, inviting the Apostolic Exarch for Ukrainians of the Byzantine Rite in Germany and Scandinavia, Bishop Bohdan Dziurakh.
“I am especially pleased that at the beginning of the community’s formation, I had the opportunity to be with you and serve in this work blessed by God, fulfilling my episcopal ministry in the Bavarian land where this congregation was born after World War II and where today sisters from Ukraine, in particular the new superior general, Sr. Theodora, are serving in the mother house,” said the bishop.
In his letter of commendation, Bishop Bohdan noted the dynamic development of the community, evangelical courage, wise and sacrificial leadership, and the testimony of the Gospel life in poverty, chastity, and obedience, modeled after Christ the Savior.
The Apostolic Exarch assured of his prayer for further growth in the sisters’ faith and for new vocations to religious life in the community.
Sisters Margaret Hildegard, who was involved in the initial formation of the Redemptorist community in Ukraine, also attended the celebration.
