On January 10, in the Carpathian region, Bishop Bohdan Manyshyn, head of the Department of Military Chaplaincy of the Patriarchal Curia of the Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church, blessed and consecrated a rehabilitation center for veterans and wounded military personnel. The bishop was joined by military chaplains of the 50th Regiment named after Colonel Semen Vysochan of the National Guard of Ukraine, Fr. Petro Yevchuk and Fr. Roman Kostrabiy. Representatives of the command of the National Guard of Ukraine and local authorities also took part in the event.

“Rehabilitation is our second front,” says Bishop Bohdan Manyshyn at the opening of a center for veterans in the Carpathian region

This was reported by the press service of the Department of Military Chaplaincy of the Patriarchal Curia of the Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church.

Addressing those present, Bishop Bohdan Manyshyn emphasized the special significance of such institutions during wartime. “Today we are participating in the inauguration of a ‘second front’. Its essence lies not only in helping our fellow defenders, but above all in preserving and giving new life to those who have been devastated by war. Here, soldiers will be able to rediscover their talents and realize that their dedication was not in vain,” said the bishop.

His Excellency also wished everyone endurance and persistence, noting that “working on oneself in a rehabilitation center is a seed that sprouts only through patience and perseverance.” The rehabilitation center is open to all defenders who need physical and psychological recovery. It is equipped with rooms for medical procedures and consultations with specialists, a modern gym for physical recovery and the development of adaptive sports, spaces for individual and group work with psychologists, as well as areas for physiotherapists and trainers who accompany the process of rehabilitation and adaptation.

Brigadier Generals Valentyn Ostryzhny and Yuriy Dremukh emphasized that supporting wounded defenders is a priority, and that the creation of the center was initiated by the National Guard itself, which demonstrates a strong combat brotherhood. The new rehabilitation center in the Carpathian region is a modern facility and a place of care and recovery, where soldiers can regain their strength, fortify their spirit, and feel the support of their comrades and the state. This is another step toward systematic care for those who defend Ukraine at the cost of their own health, and affirmation that a soldier’s journey does not end after battle.
