The 143rd Knights of Columbus Supreme Convention Is Underway in Washington, D. C.

From August 3 to 7, Washington, D. C., is hosting the 143rd Supreme Convention of the Knights of Columbus—one of the most significant annual events of the world’s largest Catholic fraternal organization. Over two thousand delegates from various countries, including Ukraine, are taking part in the convention.

Among the representatives of the Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church is Bishop Mykhailo Bubniy, Exarch of Odesa and National Chaplain of the Knights of Columbus in Ukraine.

Other UGCC bishops attending the event include Metropolitan Borys Gudziak of Philadelphia, Eparch Bryan Bayda of Toronto, and Eparch Michael Kwiatkowski of New Westminster.

Archbishop and Metropolitan of Lviv Mieczysław Mokrzycki, representing the Roman Catholic Church in Ukraine, is also participating in the convention.

The Ukrainian delegation includes the national delegate of the Knights of Columbus in Ukraine, Mykola Mostovyak; national secretary Yuriy Maletsky; and a group of Knights from across Ukraine who are actively involved in all aspects of the program.

The Supreme Convention is an annual gathering that brings together Knights of Columbus leaders from around the world for prayer, strategic planning, fraternity, and spiritual enrichment.

This year’s program includes Divine Liturgies, working sessions, solemn events, and fraternal meetings. The convention holds particular significance for the Ukrainian Knights, who continue to serve their communities and support refugees and victims of war amid the ongoing war conditions.
