The Knights of Columbus Celebrates the 10th Anniversary of its Founding of the First Chapters in Ukraine
On October 8, at the Patriarchal Cathedral of the Resurrection of Christ in Kyiv, the Knights of Columbus celebrated the 10th anniversary of the founding of the first chapters in Ukraine, which became the backbone of the Order’s development and marked the beginning of its activities in Ukraine.
The first Knights of Columbus Councils 10 years ago were # 15800 St. Volodymyr at the Patriarchal Cathedral of the Resurrection of Christ of the UGCC in Kyiv and # 15801 St. John Paul II at the Metropolitan Basilica of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary of the RCC in Lviv.
After the Liturgy at the Patriarchal Cathedral, Bishop Andriy Khimyak congratulated the Knights of Columbus on their 10th anniversary on behalf of the entire church community, wishing that their ministry would lead people to the knowledge of God so that they grow and are nurtured in Christian faith and love.
“May the Lord grant you many more years of functioning and living in Ukraine. May these years be years of development for you, increasing your ministry’s number and quality. May the Lord embrace our Ukraine through your hands, our Ukrainians who especially need the most support, help, and God’s love,” Bishop Andriy Khimyak wished.
In the crypt of the Patriarchal Cathedral, the knights prayed a memorial service for His Beatitude Lubomyr Husar, and then introduced their activities in the Patriarchal Curia. The UGCC Department for Information
