The parish of St. Michael the Archangel in Odesa celebrates the patronal feast
On Sunday, November 5, a solemn service was held at the parish of St. Michael the Archangel in Odesa on the occasion of the patronal feast. On this day, the parishioners celebrated the third anniversary of the community’s foundation, as it was reported by the press service of the Odesa Exarchate of the UGCC.
The hierarchical Divine Liturgy was presided over by Exarch Mykhailo Bubniy of Odesa.
In his sermon, the bishop recounted the history of the struggle between good and evil, the story of St. Michael the Archangel, and his courageous victory over evil.
“In the present day, an ongoing battle unfolds between forces of good and evil, and we must discern the evil in disguise. Together with St. Michael the Archangel, who is the patron saint of our capital, God has bestowed upon us the grace to withstand and we will overcome this evil. Let everyone work for our victory, protecting the good, as the patron saint of this parish, St. Michael the Archangel,” Bishop Mykhailo emphasized.
In his closing remarks, the bishop expressed gratitude to all the devoted members, visitors, Knights of Columbus, and military personnel for their presence filled with prayer.
Then Bishop Mykhailo awarded the faithful of the parish of St. Michael the Archangel in Odesa with episcopal letters for their dedicated work for the development of the parish of the Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church in southern Ukraine, as well as the military administration of the Southern Territorial Department of the Military Law Enforcement Service of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
