The Christmas decorations in the cathedral demonstrate the combination of Christian tradition with conscious environmental awareness.

This was reported by the press service of the Kyiv Archeparchy.

To decorate the cathedral, spruce branches were used, sourced from sanitary and planned forest maintenance. These branches were harvested without harming living trees and do not disturb the natural balance and reflect a careful attitude toward forest resources.

“This approach to Christmas decorations is a sign of the Christian community’s responsibility for the world created by God and a reminder of our calling to preserve the gifts of the Creator. Decorating the church in this way, the Patriarchal Cathedral combines the beauty of the Christmas tradition with care for future generations, setting an example of thoughtful and responsible Christian witness,” said Fr. Andriy Bodnaruk, administrator of the Patriarchal Cathedral.
