The transfers of priests in the Melbourne Eparchy
At the beginning of January 2025, important changes took place in the Eparchy of Sts. Peter and Paul of Melbourne for Ukrainian Catholics in Australia, New Zealand and Oceania.
According to the decrees of January 1, 2025:
— Very Rev. Mitred Archpriest Fr. Simon Ckuj, Protosynkellos, is relieved of his ministry as Administrator of St. Andrew’s Parish, Lidcombe-Sydney, NSW, and is appointed Parochial Vicar of Sts. Peter and Paul Cathedral Parish, North Melbourne, VIC.
— Rev. Fr. Iurii Tychenok Is relieved of his ministry as Administrator of the Protection of the Mother of God Parish, Bell Park-Geelong, VIC, and is appointed Administrator of St. Andrew’s Parish, Lidcombe-Sydney, NSW.
— Rev. Fr. Myroslav Vons Is relieved of his ministry as Parochial Vicar of Sts. Peter and Paul Cathedral Parish, North Melbourne, VIC. And is appointed Administrator of the Protection of the Mother of God Parish, Bell Park-Geelong, VIC.
According to the decrees of January 10, 2025:
— Very Rev Fr. Wolodymyr Kalinecki is relieved of his ministry as administrator of St. Volodymyr’s Parish, Lyneham-Canberra, ACT. Fr. Wolodymyr will now enjoy a well-deserved retirement.
— Rev. Fr. Vasyl Motrichenko, appointed administrator of St. Volodymyr’s Parish, Lyneham-Canberra, ACT.
The Eparchy expresses its sincere gratitude to Father Wolodymyr for his many years of service, which have been a blessing to many faithful. His zealous work and prayers will always be remembered with gratitude. May the Lord bless him in this new stage of his life.
