“To be and serve where there is the greatest need”: Head of UGCC congratulates superior of the Congregation of Sisters Servants
In a letter, His Beatitude Sviatoslav, the Father and Head of the UGCC, congratulated Sister Sofia Slavomira Lebedovych on her re-election for the next six years as the Superior General of the Congregation of Sisters Servants of Mary Immaculate and the election of new advisors. He thanked her for her ministry and assured her of his openness to all initiatives aimed at the development of our Church and the proclamation of God’s word.
“I express my gratitude to the Lord, who sent His generous gifts to all the participants of the General Election Chapter held in the Eternal City and, through the prayers of the co-founder of the Congregation of Blessed Josaphata and your sisters, honored you anew with this responsible ministry,” the Head of the Church addressed Sophia in a greeting letter.
His Beatitude Sviatoslav noted that the ministry of the Superior General coincides with difficult years for Ukraine, which has been at war for more than a year, and other countries. However, the mission of the Sisters Servants remains consistent: to be and serve where there is the greatest need and to testify with their lives to the merciful God.
“I assure you of my openness to all your initiatives aimed at the development of our Church, the proclamation of God’s word, and the good of God-loving people,” the Primate emphasized and added: “I pray that the strengthening of the Congregation and vocations to the consecrated life will mark the next period of your administration.”
