UGCC Calls to Sign Petition to Transfer St. Nicholas Church in Kyiv to Roman Catholics
The UGCC urges you to sign petition No. 41/005649–23 ep on the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine’s website to support the transfer of St. Nicholas Church in Kyiv to the Roman Catholic parish of St. Nicholas. As of December 4, the petition has already received more than 13,000 signatures, with 54 days remaining to reach the required goal of 25,000.
For many years, St. Nicholas Church has served as a concert hall. On June 1, 2022, the authorities promised to return it to the community but have not fulfilled their promise. After 85 years of state ownership, the church is on the verge of destruction and needs immediate repair and restoration.
Therefore, the UGCC calls for signing an electronic petition to preserve the unique Catholic church, an architectural landmark. For your convenience, we recommend using the video instruction.
