Ukrainian Youth Association in the United States Takes Off
This year’s gathering of the Ukrainian Youth Association in America at the CYM home in Ellenville, New York, held under the slogan “Evil will perish and truth will prevail,” brought together over 650 participants, according to a report by Ukrinform, referencing the Youth Association.
“Good mood, positive impressions, fair competition, ringing songs, and friendly meetings—there was an abundance of activities at this regional meeting, which brought together participants from various parts of the United States,” the post stated.
The participants of the CYM America Youth Association were blessed by CYM General Chaplain Rev. Stepan Sus. In his sermon, the bishop reminded the audience that “to be a CYM member means to be ready to shine for others, to be a beacon of great love for God and Ukraine.”
It should be noted that this year the Ukrainian Youth Association in America celebrates its 75th anniversary and consistently honors the memory of Ukrainian Heroes—defenders who gave their lives for Ukraine. Among the latest Heroes of Ukraine are those who belonged to the CYM.
At the conclusion of the Divine Liturgy, Bishop Stepan Sus, together with long-time CYM member Rev. Pavlo Chomnycky, Bishop of the Stamford Eparchy of the UGCC, held a memorial service for the esteemed CYM member Fr. Roman Mirchuk and all the fallen heroes of Ukraine.
