Volodymyr Slepchenko and Myroslav Senyk are honored with the highest award of the UGCC
On July 16, 2023, in Zarvanytsia, during the All-Ukrainian pilgrimage, the Father and Head of the UGCC, His Beatitude Sviatoslav, honored Mr. Volodymyr Slepchenko and Mr. Myroslav Senyk with the highest award of the Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church, the Order of Metropolitan Andrey Sheptytsky. They became the ninth and tenth recipients of the Order, respectively.

According to His Beatitude Sviatoslav, this year’s awardees largely reflect the spirit of ministry and broad-mindedness of the righteous Metropolitan Andrey.
Mr. Volodymyr Slepchenko was awarded for his significant contribution to the development of Ukrainian culture and art, for active, creative cooperation with the church hierarchy in different periods of the formation and development of the UGCC, for many years of fruitful work in the field of church painting, which was crowned with the painting of the murals in St. Josaphat’s Cathedral in Toronto, for donating a dozen paintings to the Andrey Sheptytsky National Museum in Lviv, for his deep Christian life, the testimony of faith, ministry to the Church and the Motherland.

Mr. Myroslav Senyk was awarded for his active public and social position in fostering Christian values and opposing evil, for his diligent work for the development of the Ukrainian Catholic University, and for his devoted service as administrative director of the UCU program Kyivan Christianity, which has become the prophetic voice of the Kyivan Church and promotes the unity of the Churches of Volodymyr’s baptism, for supporting many projects of our Church, for setting an example of good Christian life and active lay ministry based on Christian values and the social teaching of the righteous Metropolitan Andrey Sheptytsky.
