An Intereparchial Mini-Football Tournament for Clergy Takes Place in the Carpathians
On September 15, an intereparchial mini-football tournament for clergy was held in Yaremche and Mykulychyn, Ivano-Frankivsk Oblast, organized by the Kolomyia Eparchy of the Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church. Clergy from nine eparchies and archieparchies of the Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church, as well as from the Mukachevo Greek Catholic Eparchy, took part in the competition.

The team from the Ivano-Frankivsk Archeparchy won the tournament. Second place went to the team from the Sokal-Zhovkva Eparchy, and third place to the team from the Ternopil-Zboriv Archeparchy.
The tournament began with Moleben to Christ the Lover of Mankind at the Church of the Nativity of St. John the Baptist in Yaremche. The prayer service was led by Bishop Petro Holiney, auxiliary bishop of the Kolomyia Eparchy.
The official opening ceremony of the competition took place at the new football stadium in Yaremche. After a joint prayer, Bishop Petro Holiney blessed the participants and delivered a welcoming address. The tournament organizers were awarded certificates from Bishop Vasyl Ivasyuk, Eparch of Kolomyia.
The participants were also greeted by Yaremche Mayor Andriy Myronyak and Kostyantyn Lyseiko, head of the Department of Sports and Youth Policy of the Ivano-Frankivsk Regional State Administration. Local performing groups presented a short cultural program. After the draw, the teams were divided into two groups.
The group-stage matches were held at stadiums in Yaremche and Mykulychyn, while the final stage of the tournament took place in Mykulychyn. After the competition, the winners were presented with trophies and medals, and all participating teams received commemorative awards.
