Bishop Andriy Khimyak appointed the secretary of the Synod of Bishops of the UGCC
The Father and Head of the UGCC, His Beatitude Sviatoslav, appointed Auxiliary Bishop of the Kyiv Archeparchy, Bishop Andriy Khimyak, Secretary of the Synod of Bishops of the UGCC for a term of five years.
The charter of the Synod of Bishops of the Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church presupposes that “the Synod is formed to assist the Father and Head of the Church in preparing and holding the Synods of Bishops as well as considering all aspects related to the activity of the Synod in its inter-synodal period.”
“In executing your ministry, use the norms of common law, the Statute and Regulations of the Synod of Bishops of the UGCC. This decree comes into force from the moment of notification. We pray to the Lord for all the graces you need for the proper fulfillment of your duties related to this government,” the decree of the Head of the UGCC reads.
