On Saturday, March 29, an ecumenical Way of the Cross prayer service was held in Kamianske at the Parish of Our Lady of Perpetual Help of the UGCC, with the participation of representatives from various Christian denominations. Father Mykhailo Neizhmak, the parish rector and liaison for the UGCC Ecological Bureau in the Donetsk Exarchate, read the reflections for the first and eleventh stations of the ecological Way of the Cross.

The UGCC Information Service of the Bureau of Ecology reported on the event.

All those present had a wonderful opportunity to reflect on the significance of Christ’s sacrifice, who died on the cross for the entire created world, while sins against God’s creation inflict new wounds on the Savior’s body.

“Today, it is vital to reflect on the suffering of God’s creation in the aftermath of war and to pray to the Creator for its preservation and for the salvation of Ukrainians who are losing their health and lives,” said Fr. Mykhailo.

Throughout Lent, the Parish of Our Lady of Perpetual Help continues to hold Sunday thematic catechism classes, during which priests-environmentalists from various eparchies across Ukraine preach evangelical sermons on environmental issues.

On April 1, a meeting of the clergy of the Dnipro Protopresbytery was held in Dnipro, during which the priests prayed the Stations of the Cross with an environmental focus at the local UGCC Church of St. Nicholas.
