This school has become a safe space for children, where they can receive a quality education grounded in Christian values.

This was reported by the press service of the Donetsk Exarchate.

The celebrations began with a festive assembly, which brought together 1 st and 2 nd grade students, their parents, relatives, and teachers. The event was attended by Bishop Maksym Ryabukha, Exarch of Donetsk, Fr. Roman Vovk, rector of the parish of Our Lady of Perpetual Help, Sr. Khristofora Bushyn, provincial superior of the Sisters Servants in Ukraine, as well as clergy of the Exarchate.

School Director Vitalia Vovk greeted those present, remarking, “This is not just a building with classrooms, but a place where the future generation will be educated based on eternal values. Here, children will gain knowledge, learn to be kind, sensitive, and responsible, feel safe, explore their potential, and develop their talents. I wish the students success, interesting lessons, loyal friends, and vivid emotions!” Bishop Maksym Ryabukha emphasized: “Today we rejoice for our first and second graders who are starting their education in a newly renovated school. This event will go down in the history of Zaporizhia. Children will come here to learn, grow, and discover the beauty of the world, sharing it with others.” Recalling St. Don Bosco, in whose honor the school is named, the bishop presented an icon of the Mother of God, emphasizing her special role as the helper of Christians, and an embroidered towel as a symbol of family comfort.

After performing the Ukrainian national anthem and receiving Bishop Maksym’s blessing for a successful 2025–2026 academic year, the students and teachers performed with a concert program featuring poetry and dance. Particularly heartwarming was the performance by Milana Shugailo, a student at the parish’s vocal studio, who sang a patriotic song. The festive mood was upheld by Italian clown Pimpa (Marco Rodari), who performed an entertainment program. The culmination was the cutting of the ribbon by the school’s founders—Bishop Maksym, Ms. Vitalia, and Father Roman—which marked the official opening.

Deputy Director Daria Ishkova added: “Every new year is like a movie where children play the leading roles. May this year be fun, interesting, and successful!”

The school, which was completed after 14 months of construction and opened in August 2025.

It is equipped with modern facilities, has a shelter, heating, ventilation, and a cozy courtyard. Director Vitalia Vovk expressed her gratitude to benefactors, patrons, parents, and teachers for their support in creating this unique educational space.
