His Beatitude Sviatoslav meets with the Ukrainian Association of Catholic Physicians
On April 1, the Father and Head of the UGCC met with the community of Christian doctors. Representatives of the Kyiv branch of the Ukrainian Association of Catholic Physicians had the opportunity to discuss with His Beatitude Sviatoslav how to share the experience of believing doctors, deepen knowledge in medicine, and heal war wounds.
“The victory of Ukraine depends not only on military art or the number of weapons — the victory of Ukraine depends on how well we can cope with the traumas [caused by the war — ed.],” the Archbishop mentioned.
The meeting was attended by 14 medical professionals who aim to develop the center and carry out their ministry in the light of God’s word.
Additionally, the participants saw a presentation on the activities of the rehabilitation department at the Brovary Multidisciplinary Clinical Hospital, which currently employs 25 medical representatives and has already served about 70 patients.
They also brought up the topic of medical chaplaincy and its development. His Beatitude Sviatoslav noted that being a chaplain and a physician today is a great challenge.
His Beatitude Sviatoslav stated that the purpose of the Kyiv branch of the Ukrainian Association of Catholic Physicians is to develop cooperation so that doctors can adopt the practice of spirituality, regular meetings, and the appointment of a chaplain to society.
