The Fifth Academic Year of Zhyve TV’s Online Catechetical School, Ray of Light, Completed
Zhyve TV (Live TV) united more than 140 children from Ukraine and other countries. Students from Poland, the United States, Belgium, Germany, Luxembourg, and the United Kingdom participated in the online classes. The children joined the lessons to deepen their knowledge of the Christian faith and Ukrainian culture.
The Ray of Light online catechetical school is a testament to the vibrancy and activity of the Church, as it unites children from all over the world in love for God, the Ukrainian language, and culture. Studying at the online school not only allows students to gain knowledge about the faith but also helps them form a Ukrainian identity, even when far from home.
During the year, five catechists taught classes in 5 different programs:

Preparation for the First Confession and Holy Communion (8–9 years old) — Sr. Antonia Pichuga (Congregation of the Sisters of the Holy Family)

Journey through the Liturgical Year (9–10 years old) — Sr. Teresa Vasulia (Congregation of the Sisters of the Holy Family)

Journey through the Old Testament (10–11 years old) — Br. Ruslan Butenko (6th year of the Kyiv Three Saints Theological Seminary)

Journey through the New Testament (11–12 years old) — Br. Ruslan Butenko (6th year, Kyiv Three Saints Theological Seminary)

Unified by Christ (13–14 years old) — Br. Taras Hardyhura (4th year of the Kyiv Three Saints Theological Seminary) and Br. Nestor Vysoczansky (5th year of the Kyiv Three Saints Theological Seminary)
All students received certificates of completion at the end of the academic year.
New classes for children aged 8 to 14 will begin in October 2024.
In 2025, the six-year catechetical school program will conclude, during which students have journeyed through the history of salvation, studying the Holy Scriptures and the Divine Liturgy.
Summer Vacation with “Ray of Light”
The school year is complete, but the school’s activities continue. In July, the children’s camp will be held in Drohobych. This has become a cherished tradition at the school, as the camp provides children with the opportunity to relax, unite, share experiences, and make friends.
