The Foundation of Patriarch Lubomyr Husar established in the UGCC
The Foundation of Patriarch Lubomyr Huzar was established in the Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church. On July 22, 2022, His Beatitude Sviatoslav, the Father and Head of the UGCC, issued the decree on the establishment of the Foundation.
His Beatitude Sviatoslav noted in the decree on the establishment of the Foundation that it was created “to preserve, understand and popularize the multifaceted heritage of Patriarch Lubomyr Husar, primarily, his spiritual heritage and its importance for the development of the Ukrainian Greek-Catholic Church; its intellectual, ecumenical, international, social and state-building activity as ethnarch of the Ukrainian people.”
The Supervisory board is the Permanent Synod of Bishops of the UGCC. His Beatitude Sviatoslav named the following persons as members of the Board of the Foundation: Mitred Protopriest Oleksa Petriv, Chairman of the Board of the Foundation, prot. Andriy Bodnaruk, Deputy Chairman of the Board of the Foundation, prot. Ihor Yatsiv, Mr. Oleh Turiy, Ms. Olena Hantsyak, Mr. Yevgen Pastukh, Mr. Danylo Lubkivskyi, Mr. Mykhailo Kanafotskiy and Ms. Tetiana Stavnycha. In their service, the members of the board will be operating the Foundation’s charter.
The Head of the UGCC appointed Mr. Roman Kakaliuk as the Director of the Fund for three years.
