UK Secretary of State for Defence Visits UGCC Cathedral in London: “We Will Stand Alongside You as Long as It Takes”
On November 19, 2024, on the 1000th day of Russia’s full-scale war against Ukraine, British Defense Secretary John Healey and James Cartlidge, the Shadow Secretary of State for Defence visited the Ukrainian Catholic Cathedral of the Holy Family in London. They were greeted by Rt. Rev. Kenneth Nowakowski, Bishop of the Ukrainian Catholic Eparchy of the Holy Family.
This is stated on the page of the British Minister of Defense on the social network X.
To mark the 1000th day of the full-scale war, representatives of the British Ministry of Defense lit candles of remembrance in the Cathedral of the Holy Family.
After visiting the cathedral, the Defense Secretary and the Shadow Defense Secretary toured the Ukrainian Welcome Center and met with representatives of Ukrainian NGOs.
“We are here together to underline that the UK stands united with Ukraine, and has been since day one,” said Minister John Healey.
“The most important point today is to remember the enormous sacrifices made by so many brave people in Ukraine. We remember them today and send a joint message: we will stand by your side for as long as it takes,” assured the representatives of the UK Ministry of Defense.
