His Beatitude Sviatoslav Creates Organizing Committee to Prepare UGCC for Jubilee 2025
His Beatitude Sviatoslav, Father and Head of the UGCC, by his decree of July 30, 2024, established an organizing committee to prepare the program for the Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church’s participation in the Jubilee 2025, and named its chairman and deputy.

As it is known, His Holiness Pope Francis proclaimed the Ordinary Jubilee Year 2025 with the bull “Spes non confundit” (“Hope will not disappoint”) (Rom. 5:5). In his bull, the Roman Bishop invited the faithful of the Eastern Churches to participate in this Year, especially those already in communion with the Successor of St. Peter.
“Responding to the appeal of the Ecumenical Bishop, having received the consent of the Synod of Bishops of the UGCC, which was held on July 2–12, 2024, in Zarvanytsia (Resolution No. 12), and taking into account the prescription of can. 124 of the CCEC, we, by the power vested in us, establish the Jubilee Committee for the Year 2025, whose task will be to prepare a program for the Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church’s participation in this Year,” the decree reads.

The Head of the Church appointed Most Rev. Jaroslav Pryriz, Bishop of Sambir-Drohobych, as head of the 2025 Jubilee Committee, and Father Teodosiy Gren, Protosyncellus of the Apostolic Exarchate in Italy, as his deputy.
