Son of UGCC priest Vasyl Zdeb died of severe injuries
On November 1, Lieutenant Vasyl Zdeb, son of UGCC priest and military chaplain Viktor Zdeb, rector of the Church of All Saints of the Ukrainian People in the village of Petryky, Velyki Berezovychi Deanery of the Ternopil-Zboriv Archeparchy, died in a Kyiv hospital from severe wounds received during a combat mission, as reported by the press service of the Ternopil-Zboriv Archeparchy of the UGCC.
Vasyl, answering the call of his heart, went to defend his homeland in the early days of the Russian-Ukrainian war. In early October 2023, he was seriously injured and was undergoing treatment at the Kyiv Military Hospital.
The entire community of clergy and faithful of the UGCC bows its head in reverence before the feat of the Hero who gave his life for Ukraine and all of us.
We express our deepest condolences to Fr. Viktor Zdeb and his wife Olha, the family and friends of the fallen soldier. May the All-Merciful Lord give you strength in these difficult days, and may He grant your son eternal rest in the Kingdom of God.
